How I see it
I strive to continuously work with the entire team on the corporate culture. We do this by continually sticking to my vision of what an organization should look like. The vision is as follows: Using a fresh and pragmatic approach with a young and dynamic team to shake up the consulting world.
In support of this vision, we have jointly defined the following core values with the team:
- Communications
- Pragmatic
- Sound farm sense
My goal is to create a corporate culture where we can all be ourselves, but still function as one group. I would like to see that in that group there is room for development and that everyone feels heard, even when it comes to setbacks, business or personal. Through an open culture, we hope to provide enough handles so that everyone feels at home within KAM. My goal for an employee's career at KAM is that afterwards the employee looks back on a great and instructive period. I fully understand that you change jobs every few years. There can be numerous reasons for this, but I hope with us it is never the reason that it is not fun, the culture is not right or there are not enough opportunities for advancement. When you retire, the years at Fendix should be in your TOP 3 of most enjoyable and best jobs.
I would like people to think, ''I worked at Fendix for five years and we all built something really great there. Then, because I was looking for a new challenge, I moved on. After that I've had three other employers, but nowhere have I had as much fun as I did there, never had such great projects, had such a nice group dynamic.''
That's what I hope to achieve.
How do we try to achieve that?
I think we all have to try very hard for this and I sometimes have to hold back. The acceptance that things do not always go the way I envision them is very important here. That is why I think the following is an important principle: "If you treat others the way you want to be treated, you will always be treated well yourself". If not, at least it will be good for your karma😉.
Also, we think it is important to learn to understand why someone is the way they are. This is where psychology comes in. Within Fendix we try to select as much as possible based on character traits. For example, on their first day at work, everyone is given the book 'Surrounded by idiots' to take home. The purpose of this is to get a better understanding of the psychology behind a person and therefore to be able to put yourself in someone else's shoes.
What do we do to get this far?
I believe that comfort in life is nice. It is nice if you have a good workplace, fringe benefits are well organized, etc.. Part of this is that we go out for drinks every month, often followed by a dance. It is important that everyone gains a new and pleasant experience from this evening.
In addition to the semi-annual company outing, my ambition is to go on "Workcation" next year. This should become an annual event where we all look back with pride at what we have accomplished in the past year.
But, I think it's important if everyone is happy with us, that gives me the most energy.
