Start of the month: dive into the depths
Just imagine: the month is beginning and you are immediately busy with an in-depth interview process at Heras Hekwerken. With more than 1200 employees, your job is to uncover the core issues in information security and the implementation of the ISO 27001 to lead the standard. This is just the warm-up to a month of challenges. Jelle explains: “Each new project comes with unique challenges, but starting at Heras Hekwerken was an interesting dive into a large organization. It's a thrill to be so involved!”
Diversity of projects
At Fendix, no day is the same. Just look at a few of Jelle's activities:
- TotalEnergies Charging Solutions Netherlands: Jelle supports the organization during the important external audit.
- Logis Software: the last mile for certification - the external audit has also taken place for this organization. Jelle was involved in the implementation. He was not present at the external audit, but of course he called the customer to ask how the audit went.
- BTTR: at the same time, the implementation of the ISO 9001 and 27001.
- Blueprint Learning: Jelle flies out to Copenhagen for his first foreign assignment and conducts an internal audit.
- DA Systems: not everything takes place physically, he also adds value digitally - the digital internal audit for the NO 7510 and ISO 27001 is on the program.
- GGZ Western Noord-Brabant: after a successful GAP analysis he meets once a month with the Information Security Officer (ISO) at GGZ WNB to jointly improve their information management system (ISMS).
In addition, he maintains his own customers. “These are customers where I have already completed a successful implementation. This includes organizations such as Ultimoo Incasso, SPL, STP Connect and HIX,” says Jelle. As icing on the cake, a quarterly meeting will take place, covering all developments and results within Fendix. “It's so diverse, no two days are the same,” says Jelle. The meeting ends with a nice Friday afternoon drink.
But how do you manage all orders?
Jelle knows how to manage his time well. He carefully plans major projects:
- Fixed days are blocked for large customers.
- Much of the project is planned in advance in detail.
- The customer's preference also determines the agenda.
- He alternates working from home with days at the office, which ensures a nice balance.
“Working from home gives me the peace of mind to work out issues such as reports and policy documents. But being in the office also brings that indispensable team dynamic. It is of course very cozy. We regularly play a game of ping-pong or FIFA to relax,” explains Jelle.
Self-development and teamwork
Self-development is at the heart of Fendix. Jelle keeps his knowledge sharp by:
- attending training courses;
- keeping up with LinkedIn for networks and trends;
- to attend internal knowledge sharing sessions.
He also works closely with juniors. He takes them into the world of information security and lets them experience the profession from within. “Supervising new talents is one of the most rewarding parts of my job,” says Jelle. Personal input is also important to Fendix. For example, Jelle has a traineeship developed for the organization, so that inexperienced talents can grow into Senior Consultants.
Why Fendix?
What Jelle appreciates most about his work? The diversity of projects and growing customer relationships. He sees many different companies and by working with customers every day, he not only builds expertise but also a valuable network. All in an environment that is both challenging and enriching. “Every new customer is a new adventure. It's great to see so many different organizations from the inside and meet new people every time,” describes Jelle.
