What does a Privacy Officer do?

The Privacy Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the GDPR and other privacy laws, supervises the organization's privacy policy, and acts as a contact person for the Data Protection Authority (AP). In addition, he or she sets up and maintains privacy policies, procedures, processing agreements, retention periods and the processing register. Employees are actively informed and advised about data protection and the GDPR, and can be trained internally if necessary. The Privacy Officer also prepares and advises on how to implement Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), and supports the correct reporting of data breaches to the appropriate authorities and stakeholders.
