How I see it
I strive to continuously work on the company culture with the entire team. We do this by continuously sticking to my vision of what an organization should look like. The vision is as follows: Shake up the consultancy world with a young and dynamic team with a fresh and pragmatic approach. To support this vision, we have jointly defined the following core values with the team:
- Communication
- Pragmatic
- Common sense
I aim to all create a corporate culture where we can all be ourselves, but still act as one group. I would like to see that there is room for development in that group and that everyone feels heard, even when it comes to setbacks, business or private. Through an open culture, we hope to provide sufficient tools so that everyone feels at home within the KAM. My goal for an employee career at KAM is for the employee to look back on a great and educational period afterwards. I understand very well that you change jobs every few years. There can be many reasons for this, but I hope that for us it is never the reason that it is not fun, the culture is not right or there are not enough opportunities for growth. When you retire, the years at Fendix should be in your TOP 3 of the best and best jobs.
I would like people to think: “I worked at Fendix for five years and we all created something really beautiful there. Then, because I was looking for a new challenge, I moved on. After that, I had three other employers, but I've never had such fun as there, never had such cool projects, had such a great group dynamic.”
How do we try to achieve that?
I think we should all do our very best to do this and I need to restrain myself sometimes. The acceptance that things don't always work out the way I have them in mind is very important here. That is why I also think that the following is an important starting point: “If you want others to be treated like you, you will always be treated well yourself”. If this is not the case, it is at least good for your karma 😉.
We also think it's important that you learn to understand why someone is the way they are. So this is where the psychology section comes into play. At Fendix, we try to select as much as possible for character traits. For example, on their first day of work, everyone gets the book “Surrounded by idiots” to take home. The purpose of this is to better understand the psychology behind one person and therefore to be able to better put yourself in the shoes of someone else.
What do we do to get this far?
I believe that comfort in life is pleasant. It's nice if you have a good workplace, secondary employment conditions are well arranged, etc. Part of this, for example, is that we go out for extensive drinks every month and often have a dance afterwards. In addition, it is important that everyone has a new pleasant experience from this evening.
In addition to the biannual company outing, it is also my ambition to go to 'Workcation' next year. This should be an annual moment where we all look back with pride at what we have achieved over the past year.
But, I think it's important if everyone is happy with us, that gives me the most energy.
Working at Fendix?
We are looking for new colleagues. Are you enthusiastic about Wouter's vision? Then watch here.
