Strategy and Tactics
At Fendix, I am not only involved in the day-to-day business, as I initially expected, but also in the strategic and tactical aspects of the company. Everyone is actively involved in new projects, and management doesn't just focus on hard numbers. We are a group of “like minded” individuals who not only love their work, but also enjoy informal activities such as beer pong over drinks and improvised table tennis (as we don't have an official table tennis table).
So how does that work in my work?
How does that work? When I'm working on a side project, like rethinking our branding, I start my research on the internet. I gather relevant information, document my ideas, and add images to clarify my views. As soon as I feel like I've gathered enough material for my sprint, I organize my thoughts and ask a colleague if I can present or explain my findings. Wouter often takes the time to listen to me, and by explaining my ideas to him, I get a clearer picture of what I actually want to communicate, and I immediately receive valuable feedback on my thoughts and arguments.
Spontaneous interactions
These spontaneous interactions ensure the rapid progress of the project, and the flexibility, speed and critical attitude that I value seamlessly fit into Fendix's culture. In the more creative aspects of our work, I can receive immediate feedback on my ideas and the underlying arguments, so that we work efficiently and purposefully.
